Uncle, no doubt I will more readily grab 10-12 or 2-14-68 if I want to hear the boys, but my response was for a moment for me at a show. Too young to have been at Avalon so I take what was given. Indeed, it was just those few moments of a full moon, shooting star and Phil's opening notes. No more than 20 seconds but a moment that I'll keep forever. Have another hearty laugh - it's good for the soul.

That's your only advice for me?

I've never seen Coach K do that though...

Members of the Duke nation call complaining about the officiating "twerping" in honor of the University of Maryland. It sucks to have bad calls, or even worse, uneven or erratic calls (by that I mean they allow physical inside play for 3 quarters and all of a sudden call touch fouls). But both games came down to the final play(s) so I'm not sure how much you can whine about the refs. Now please note that I did NOT see last night's game so I can't comment. I do know that the network execs and league bosses are dreading the thought of an Orlando-Denver match up. I reiterate that it has been preordained that Kobe v King James will be the match up. [money doesn't talk, it shouts]

Oh, trust me, I am not deploring the loss, but the overall REF issue.

Of course, if I were a Detroit of Old, or even old or new Celts fan, I'd see it differently (I did sheepishly turn a blind eye when we had Shaq and he did what he did from 2000-2002, BUT even then, the INCONSISTENCY was frustrating as Hell: sometimes he could crush people and it was "establishing position" and the next he couldn't move without getting a foul).

As an "old school" sort I really do believe it is a non-contact sport in it's purest form, and that it should be ref'd one way or another, CONSISTENTLY.

I am sure if Odum or Pau came out with Martin-esque moves they'd be called on it (partly their own fault).

thanks for listening, BD & HF!

I think you could seriously make the argument for some 80's shows, though they wouldn't be my first pick either. 9/18/1987 stands out as an actual historical moment - Touch of Grey broke the Top Ten that week and the boys celebrated with this amazing show ...

Nice.

I was there. Still recall that Dew as one of the highlights of my time seeing the boys.
